Temple of Zeus
According to mythology, during a drought, Aeakos begged Zeus for rain. His pleas were heard and then Aiakos built a sanctuary in honor of the Hellenic Zeus. A 5-meter-high retaining wall, built with polygonal masonry from the Hellenistic era, is preserved, and next to it is a stone staircase. At the top of the stairs there is a flat area on which the sanctuary of Hellenic Zeus was built.
Where the church is built are the ruins of a building with a width of 20m and a length of 29m whose roof held 3 rows of 5 columns each. Perhaps this hall was a guesthouse. A little higher there is a large outdoor traditional reservoir. In a second one a little higher, a hydria was found with an inscription dedicating to Zeus Hellanius.
